The Modal Shop’s family of electrodynamic shakers includes small-sized shakers rated from 2 lbf (9 N) to 110 lbf (489 N). Available designs include the revolutionary SmartShaker™ with integrated power amplifier, a variety of mini, through-hole modal, and dual purpose platform shakers. These exciters are ideal for applications ranging from experimental modal analysis to general vibration testing of small components and sub-assemblies. Shaker kits include an amplifier and accessory kit.

A full line of testing accessories, such as Lateral Excitation Stands, AirRideTM Test Supports, Horizontal Tables, and Head Expanders, are also available.

Miniature Shakers


These electrodynamic exciters are small, portable permanent magnet shakers. They are ideally suited for general purpose vibration testing of small components and sub-assemblies, or as excitation transducers for modal, academic, biomedical, or laboratory research. The shakers feature extremely rugged suspension systems using carbon fiber composite leaf armature flexures. Isolated linear bearings provide low distortion and eliminate the need for reaction wrenches when mounting loads to the armature. A trunnion base with EasyTurn™ handles allows for convenient mounting and positioning of the K2004E01/K2004E004 and K2007E01/K2007E007 shakers.

Modal Shakers


For many modal test applications, an electrodynamic shaker system is best suited for creating an appropriate input forcing function. Distributing adequate input force energy across the test structure and obtaining accurate and reliable input force measurements is critical for successful modal and structural testing. This often requires a shaker that is highly portable, rugged and easy to setup in order to facilitate the best exciter location (relative to the test structure) while minimizing any unwanted interaction between the exciter and test structure.

Dual Purpose Shakers


The Modal Shop's dual purpose shakers come with a large 3.25-inch [8.3 cm] diameter platform table to support test objects, making the shaker ideal for traditional vibration control testing of components and subassemblies. The unit is also designed with a through-hole armature and includes a chuck and collet attachment, providing simple set-up with stingers for experimental modal analysis applications.
