Including Firearm Dynamics & Acoustics August 20 – 21, 2025 | Depew, NY
This two day training course by PCB Piezotronics will teach about performing conformal ballistic testing in accordance with the Sporting Arms & Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) Standards Z299. It will also cover additional testing methods for the research and development of firearm dynamics and acoustic measurements.
The class will be led by PCB's expert staff with guest speakers from The Modal Shop, Oehler Research, Bill Wiseman Barrels, and Dewesoft.
Training topics include the physics and operational characteristics of pressure transducers for both SAAMI and experimental testing, as well as measurement technologies and techniques for assessing recoil, shock and vibration, acoustics, and strain in relation to firearm dynamics. Attendees will also learn about signal conditioning, sensor handling, installation and calibration, manufacturing operations, and will witness live demonstrations on a firing range.
In addition to in-depth lectures, the course will feature an exclusive tour of the PCB Factory with hands on demonstrations and the opportunity to get your questions answered directly from PCB's knowledgeable engineering staff.
The program is geared toward ballistic technicians, test engineers, facility managers, and other end users of PCB® ballistic pressure sensors whose work depends on acquiring accurate data for SAAMI compliance. Individuals interested in firearm dynamics will also benefit from the class through the presented lecture material and live demonstrations.
The registration fee is $465.00 per person. This fee covers the training course, course materials, and all meals.
