Doing Business with PCB®

This information will help you understand the processes and procedures for becoming a valued supplier with PCB.

The Importance of Suppliers

PCB Piezotronics suppliers are a key component of our business.  It is essential that we partner with suppliers who can help us exceed our goals.  PCB has four key metrics around which we manage supplier relationship and performance:

  • Quality:  Meeting established specifications and standards
  • Cost:  Competitively and reasonably priced goods and services
  • Delivery:  On time delivery to request
  • Responsiveness:  Prompt and open communication

We rely on our suppliers to be focused on continuous improvement and innovative in their processes and technology to help us meet our customers' needs, based on a shared emphasis on ethics and company values. We aim to create an environment that encourages trust and open communication with our suppliers. It is our goal that our suppliers recognize they are a part of the process and we value their input. We expect that our suppliers act in a way that is ethical and compliant with all regulatory requirements to ensure a long-lasting relationship.

Becoming a PCB Supplier

In order to ensure value-add, quality product, on-time to our customer's needs, and to support the requirements of ISO9001 and AS9100, Suppliers to PCB must meet certain criteria to be included on PCB's approved supplier list (ASL).

When first doing business with PCB, PCB will assess the goods and services you will provide to determine the criteria for approval. Suppliers who provide goods and services that affect product realization will be required to complete a PD128 General Supplier Self Survey and either provide a copy of an active 3rd Party Quality Management Certification or complete PD129 Quality Supplier Self Survey. If applicable, a supplier may also be required to complete PD111 Counterfeit Avoidance Electronic Part Survey. Suppliers who successfully complete the survey and quality requirements will be added to PCB's ASL.

Supplier performance will be monitored quarterly as part of our Supplier Scorecard Process and updated survey and quality certifications will be requested periodically.

PCB's scorecard system is a tool used to facilitate open communication and joint problem solving between PCB and our Suppliers. The system is an essential tool in source selection decisions and supplier approval status. The system is comprised of a quarterly scorecard of quality and delivery performance metrics measured in the 12-month period preceding each quarter. Scorecards are generated for all production suppliers, but are distributed only to those suppliers who are classified as a Prime Supplier to PCB. Scorecards may be provided to additional suppliers upon request.
